This 1600gph pump is a work horse!!! But...see update....
UPDATE 6/27/21: Since I most recently purchased the same brand pump at a 4500gph, but it won't let me review another gph pump, it will only let me update my review on the 1600gph pump: the 4500gph pump at 2 foot lift is pumping nowhere near 4500gph. Maybe 2000-2500gph. While that is an estimate, I compare it to the temporary 3800gph utility pump i put on the waterfall while waiting for this one to be delivered and the 4500gph is pumping out way less than the 3800gph pump did, so....I don't think this pump is anywhere near the 4500gph it claims to be. I would need to double that size if it's only really pumping half the gallons it says it does. Love the sturdiness of the pump and they have good longevity, but up the size if you want what you are looking for as far as output goes. This pump (1600gph) is so amazing I bought two! I use them in my koi ponds to pump water from the bottom of the pond up into a filtration system and out. This pump is tough and barely loses any gph when pumping at 5' head. Highly recommend it. Ran without issues 24/7 since I bought it in the spring, though I did remove it for winter shutdown, of course. It's pretty much maintenance free and easy to clean if needed (I never needed to) and it's outflow nozzle is adjustable; which I like. You can take the cover off, but it takes some finesse to do so as you have to line up the pump just right to detach the plastic cover. No need to cut it like others have said, you just have to take your time and figure it out. My only suggestion is that they make the step attachment for the outflow bigger so it can accommodate large tubing if needed. Other than that, A+

I love the 100W-1600GPH version of this pump
Great pump. This is my second. I bought the first one 3 years ago. It runs 7x24 from spring through fall, and I leave it in the pond over the winter. No issues with freezing or clogging. Cord is long and the pump has no issue pushing water through a ~10 foot hose with ~4' of elevation gain and delivering solid flow.

Good pond pump and great value for the money
I purchased this pump for a 400 gallon fish pond with a small waterfall. I am very pleased with the suction power and with how much water this pushes over the waterfall. The pump is very easy to clean, as well. I like being able to remove the housing and clean out the impellers when necessary. Have only had the pump for about 6 months and we are very pleased with it. It's quiet and operates as described. Our pump runs 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Hoping to get good usage over time.

Defective
Defective, the section with the motor keeps separating from the other half exposing the fan blades.

So far so good - excellent pump
We bought this to hook up to a pressure filtration / UV system and it's working very well -- it's a little bit overpowered for use as we only have a 500-gallon pond -- that said it works very well and we can't hear it at all -- our pond went from totally green with sludge on the bottom to almost perfectly clear in about 4 days and our 7 fish (about 5 inches long) are very happy -- The filter paired with this pump is the same brand - VIVOSUN Bio Pressure Pond Filter, up to 1050 Gallons

Flow rate WAY WAY below spec; then failed
Update: Awful! One month after installation the pump failed completely. Motor seized, locked in place. My similar Little Giant pump has been running for ten years straight now, 8 months a year, in Southern Wisconsin. I had to replace my 880 gallon fountain pump, so I purchased the Vivosun 1600 gph PG1600-S. I installed the pump and plugged it in, assuming the flow might be overwhelming. To my surprise, the flow was less than my previous 880 gph pump. That's fine for me, because it looks good. Out of curiosity, I decided to measure the flow. I have a 3 foot pipe (head), which I routed directly into a 5 gallon bucket without a restriction at the top of the pipe. It took exactly 61 seconds to fill the bucket. Simple math says that is roughly 300 gallons per hour. The manual suggests it should be 1189 gallons per hour for a 3.3' vertical rise using 3/4" tube/pipe. Yes, I used an adapter to reduce down to a 5/8" inside diameter pipe, and that would reduce total flow, but it should also increase pressure at the end of the pipe. Instead, the water only gurgles about 1" above the 5/8" pipe. In conclusion, although it works fine for my application (see video), I strongly stand behind the other reviewers who are saying the product does not meet its specification. Also, someone needs to send a spell checker to the Vivosun Technical Writing team, or teach them how to spell fountain. That's just embarrassing. Now let's see how long it runs. All things considered, I am very concerned. My 2 star rating reflects it. I'll update the review over time.

works well, very quiet, does not disturb the fish. easy to install, you just have to plug it in to a GF protected 110 volt outlet.

I bought this in March 2024, over a year ago and it's still running great. Even kept it running throughout the winter. The one issue was, when I attached a filter hose line to the thread intake, the casing broke. Doesn't appear overally strong, so I don't use an external filter but it doesn't appear to need one. I would buy this pump again without hesitation.

So far so good. Hooked up to a filter to clean up my pond water. Nice and quiet, easy to clean.
