I’m 5’9” will this work my height? Also does it come with a diagram on how to use?

I suspect it would work for your height but check with rink that you are planning to use. Many of the rinks want you to use theirs or won’t allow them at all.

yes, it can fit in a trunk or the back of an SUV or van

Can you use this outdoors on trails and in the street?

It is designed to be used on the ice for stabilizing the skater.

Great company

I needed this right away to go skating with my granddaughter. Even though expedited shipping was not an option online, I contacted the company and they were great. Very personal attention to me as a customer, not just a number. The product arrived on time, packing was secure, product had no damage, was easy to assemble, and did the job. Now, I not only feel secure ice skating, but will do inline skating on the trails in our neighborhood with my granddaughter.
