i don't know how sensitive about odor you are? i know I'm really sensitive to odors and personally i did not think it had an odor. i would say when you get it and it has an odor, then hang it outside in the sun for a day or two..

Can I use this in my bathroom (it has a heated floor)?

I suppose you could use it on the bathroom floor, but the wool is quite long and if you get it wet, it may smell like wet sheep.
