This is definitely a quality plastic junction box. It has a nice rubber gasket in the top and the top is held in place with four corner screws. I particularly like the very flexible gaskets on the cable holes that allow you to remove just enough material so they have a snug fit around the cables.

I have ham radio antenna coxial running into the box, lightning arrestors, grounds and coax out of the box and into my "ham shack". This box is well made, well designed and easy to use.

I'm not exactly using this for what it was intended but it's actually the best way to hide excess cable and tidy up your work or media spaces. None of the products meant for cable management fit the solution I was going for as well as this product does. Highlights: - comes in a variety of sizes. - has multiple access points that you can use according to your need by removing the rubber seal. If you change your mind the seal can easily be popped back in place. No drilling required. - closes securely with screws so it won't open unintentionally. - price is right I'll be using these going forward for all my ocd cable hiding.

Works great for the project at hand

I purchased this box to clean up my security camera install. Luckily, my camera plugs came with weather tight plugs as this box isn't IP65 rated even though the pictures show it is. I gave it 3 stars because it did hide and clean up my cables but I did mount it directly under the roof soffit so it won't be exposed to direct rain, which is a good thing since it's not water tight. As other reviewers have noted and from my direct experience: Made of very thin and cheap plastic. Rubber grommets are not very tight, you can push them out with your finger easily. Water from a garden hose or rain would easily penetrate the "seal" Cover screws aren't captive, be careful when removing as they'll just fall to the ground Be careful when screwing in cover screws. Using a small screwdriver, by hand, the head of one screw went through the thin plastic making that corner of the box not seal at all. Be careful when mounting the box to a wall, again, thin and cheap plastic will crack or the screw will go right through. If you need a plastic box just for aesthetics to tighten things up a bit, this is a good choice. If you're looking for a box that's water tight or even water resistant, you might want to look for a different enclosure.

These seem to be well made, sturdy. Comes with anchors and screws. The lid screws down tight to make a good seal like advertised. Pushing the wires through the rubber gromets is tough, and I didn't make a large cut in the gromet because I wanted it tight. But once you get the wire where you need it and everything hooked up it is fine. Has molded areas to anchor the box down in the back of the box. Unfortunately, they didn't provide a way to attach the box from the side like I needed to. I just ran the provided screws through the side of the box and had to remove the gromet I was not using on that side, so the box was flush. even after doing the lid still fit as expected. I will definitely use the other box out of this pack for my next project because I liked it so much. Good two pack for the price.

What would you use this box for? As an amateur radio operator I would use it for a coaxial cable entry point for my shack. Where the box is usually mounted low to give better access to earth stakes and where the cables come in beneath the radio. And for this it is perfect……until you go and try and reattach the lid. The holes for the lid screws are large but the screws are tiny. Not even my magnetic screwdriver could hold the screws horizontal enough to get these tiny screws centred in the large hole. Much swearing, much dropping tiny screws in the dirt, a sore back from stooping so low for so long and I was ready to kick this box to kingdom come. In the end the only way I could do it was to dip my screwdriver in silastic and shine a very bright light down the hole. Success at last but my plan to cut back drinking has failed tonight.

I bought this to house a circuit board that contains a wifi antenna for remote control of my pool pump. The requirements were that it be weatherproof, bug proof, and looks fairly good. First off I had to drill through the back to create mounting screw holes. Not a big deal. Second, the rubber grommets were high quality and you can cut through them to insert wiring while maintaining a fairly tight seal. No creepy crawlies going in so far, but as for weather I'll have to wait a year and update you. We get extremes in weather, 30 degrees Celius in summer, -30 degrees in winter. Hard on electronics to be sure. If you are using it as a true junction box you won't be disappointed. Ok one year update. The plastic corners are cracking, likely due to weather. Where I inserted the wires spiders are getting into the smallest holes. The gasket between the box and lid falls out, but I guess that's minor. I've learned that I need to seal the gaps in the grommets with silicone. I wanted to paint the whole thing black and whilst the plastic is easy, the soft rubber grommets did not take the spray paint well, leaving them sticky. Any suggestions? The electronics held up.
