Korean singer Youn Sun Nah is a veritable super star in her homeland and in France; as evidence of her stature she was chosen to sing at the Closing Ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics. In the UK, with little fanfare, she has evolved into one of the best-selling artists on the ACT label alongside far better known names. Here is the first vinyl release of her second album (from 2010), Same Girl. In Youn Sun Nah, someone with star quality has stepped onto the music scene, someone who is able to forge bridges in a truly unique way. The bridge between Asia and Europe for example, or between jazz, chanson and pop; between the highest technical precision and extreme musical freedom, between minimalism and exuberance and the bridge between the familiar and the unfamiliar. With "Same Girl" Youn Sun Nah is still on a musical voyage, exploring and experimenting with different musical styles and genres. Again the song material is very diverse, but she is still the same girl the audience has come to know and love, surprising the listener with songs that have been interpreted in highly individual and distinctive ways, and which break free from the usual stylistic constraints.

In terms of the album itself Youn Sun Nah has a great Jazz voice
I can fault the service in receiving this product. I received it promptly and there was no problems in terms of it's quality. In terms of the album itself Youn Sun Nah has a great Jazz voice, with a mixture of covers and oringnal compositions which are all very good. The vinyl pressing is very clean and has very little back ground noise. All in all this is something worth checking out.

A MARVELLOUS TALENT!
Youn Sun Nah is a highly original artist of great talent, possessed of a voice of rich quality. Her material is incredibly varied and her interpretations extremely audacious at times, but always convincing. She sings in English mainly but there is a beautiful French song at the end of the album and a most attractive Korean folk song. Breakfast in Baghdad is an absolute tour de force!! The title song is rendered very touchingly.
