Is it possible to connect 2 MacBooks to two displays? I use two displays to work with a single MacBook.

Yes, you can hook up two MacBooks to the DP1310, and then hook up two screens from the DP1310. Please note that one of your MacBooks has an HDMI interface, such as the MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021 or later models).

DP1310 can help you expand the display of your first MacBook to two screens. Also, when you want to view the display of your second MacBook (with an HDMI interface), all you need to do is just click the green button of the DP1310.

Please note:
1. Only the USB-C IN port supports keyboard, video, and mouse functions.
2. The HDMI 2.1 IN port supports video output on a single screen up to 4K 120Hz.

so how does 1 cable work for 3 monitors?

Hi, Thanks for asking!
DP1310 adopt 2 different solutions to output 3 monitors. One of the monitors (HDMI OUT1) is displayed by your laptop's original video signal. And the others are displayed by DisplayLink Technology which could output displays in the form of USB data.

Note: Please make sure your laptop's USB-C support DisplayPort Alt Mode and download DisplayLink driver so DP1310 could help to output 3 monitors.

To fully utilize the DP1310, the USB-C port on your laptop needs to support laptop charging (Power Delivery, PD) and video  (DisplayPort Alt Mode), or it can be used with DP1310 if it supports Thunderbolt.

According to the product spec page of MSI GT77 Titan, there are two USB-C ports on the side of MSI GT77 Titan that support Thunderbolt, which meet the spec of DP1310 and can be used with DP1310.

However, this spec is optional according to the description on the spec page. Therefore, please confirm whether the USB-C port on the side of your laptop supports Thunderbolt as mentioned above.
