1) Its awesome. 2) Its awesome
Ok, two things you need to know about this product: 1) Its awesome. 2) Its awesome. I work from home part of the week and I noticed on those days I was moving significantly less than the days I go into the office and run from meeting to meeting. During the summer that was ok because after I logged off I could go for a run along the lake. However, living in the Midwest, winter comes in and ruins that whole idea with its polar chill. Now, in my previous apartment buildings there has always been a gym so I never needed to leave the building in the winter to still get in a workout. As winter approached this year though, I knew I had to figure something out or my “big boy jeans” would soon become my skinny jeans. Options: A) Join a gym. B) Find another solution. Let’s be honest, gym memberships are expensive and often begin to collect dust after a few months (I'm being generous here). No one wants to bundle up, trudge through the cold to the gym, get all sweaty, and then bundle back up to go back out into the arctic winter wonderland. On top of that, I'm not really a weight lifting person so I'd be spending around $90/mo just to use one to two piece of equipment and maybe take a class or two every once in a while. Somehow, that doesn’t seem worth it to me. Once I decided to find another solution, I took to the web and settled on finding something I could do in my home. My requirements were: it had to be relatively inexpensive, have a small footprint, and be something I would want to do over and over again. I considered getting an elliptical but they are far too large and usually on the pricey side. A treadmill seemed to have similar flaws though they do make ones that fold up. But I still wasn’t onboard with any of these options yet. Enter the FitDesk 2.0. As I’ve said, I work from home part of the week so being able to combine work and working out, is amazing from an efficiency perspective. Add to that the small foot print of this machine and the great price of it in relation to other similar ones (such as a treadmill desk) and I was sold. Putting it together was relatively easy considering I did it by myself with two curious cats trying to steal the directions every five minutes. The overall structure is very sturdy. I had one small issue with it out of box which was that the monitor was set to km when I really wanted mi. I emailed the company though and they sent me a replacement monitor set to mi at no charge within a matter of days. I cannot tell you how much that made me like the machine/company more. We’ve all had those situations where you send off an email and months later, if you are lucky, they respond and tell you to send the part in before they do anything about it. This means you are paying for shipping and losing time with the product if the part was crucial. I’ve been riding it a couple of times a week for the last couple of months and love it. I ride while I participate in conference calls, work on documents, watch tv, and even while I play games! The only thing I’m marginally peeved by is the comfort of the seat. However, that may be because I’m on it for two or more hours at a time… Overall, this is a solid product from a good company that does exactly what it says it does. Very happy with it and will definitely keep my eye on this company for future products.

A great find. Sturdy and quiet.
I’m actually very impressed with this product. It’s got a heavy sturdy build and is far sturdier than it looks, and I’m a bigger guy. It is indeed very quiet. It wasn’t bad to assemble. And when it folds up to move out of the way, it takes up a very small footprint. I chose not to attach the desk portion. Because I already have a standing desk that I use it with. And it works great.

Good for exercise, good support
Update 10/14/17 So yesterday I was riding my FitDesk when at about 8 minutes, I started to hear a soft clunking. It continued till I was finished. Today when I started pedaling, there was no noise, but after a few minutes the clunking started again, and it not only got a little louder, but I could feel the rubbing and clunking with each rotation; I found it distracting enough that I stopped earlier than I had planned. The pedals are nice and tight, and I haven't used this bike that much. Update 04/19/17 The seat never felt that comfy, so I got the widest bike seat I could find - it's 13" wide, and that seems to work much better than the narrower seats, as my "sit bones" are over 10" apart. Update 10/05/16 My husband cut down the saddle tube (part 66 in the manual) the seat sits on, cut two holes in the side for the pin to go through, and voila! The Fitdesk now fits me perfectly - and while I was concerned that sitting lower would make the desktop too high to use, it's actually more comfortable for me :) Next step will be to create a seat back that reclines! Original review There are a few things that stood out for me about the Fitdesk v2.0. First is the size of the cranks, 135mm, which is 35 to 40mm shorter than the cranks on most exercise bikes. Since I have short legs, the shorter (but not short) cranks were what first drew me to try the Fitdesk. I like the idea of being able to work while pedaling, but the second thing that stood out for me is Fitdesk's customer support. I emailed them tons of questions before buying; they answered every one quickly, politely and knowledgeably. They also read the questions on this listing, as I asked one and when no users responded, Fitdesk support did. I also like the configurableness (if that's even a word). If you want, you can get an adapter and use any bicycle seat on the Fitdesk; you can also get extenders to widen the desk section. So I bought the Fitdesk, and pedaling is smooth and very quiet - quieter, actually, than my husband's Schwinn 170, which is a nice bike. It took my husband about 35 minutes to build my Fitdesk v2.0 (thanks, honey!), and when some missing parts were discovered, Fitdesk sent them to me and I had them in my hands in 4 days. So why isn't this a 5 star review? First, this claim from the Fitdesk website - "Adjustable Lean. For a further "back lean" ride or a "forward lean" ride." Um, no. My Fitdesk's seat's furthest back lean is pretty much upright with just a hint of back lean; the other adjustments let you sit so your back is actually forward, which doesn't seem very useful to me. I would LOVE it if the seat had a couple adjustments allowing me to lean back further, and in fact that was one of the reasons I decided on the bike. Too bad it's not an accurate claim. I'd be one happy camper if I could adjust the seat back from upright to leaning back to leaning way back. Also the actual seat could be more comfortable, but everyone is different when it comes to seats. For now, it's more comfortable for me than most seats but after 30 minutes or so it gets just a little uncomfortable. As a side note, my husband is a manufacturing engineer and CNC programmer, and he's considering whether he can make me a seat back holder that gives me the angles I want/need with the machines we have access to. In the meantime, the furthest back angle is good if you want to type. Overall I like the Fitdesk quite a bit. The smooth, quiet action is very nice, the vulnerable parts of the body came wrapped so there's not a chip or scratch anywhere and Fitdesk support is really great. The desk itself is nicer in person than in pictures, and the rubber surface is just grippy enough; the desk fits my husband's 17" laptop well and my tablet very well. The computer's scan has a nice speed and seems very consistent. If only the seat back could be adjusted so it could either be used as it is now or lean back further, this would be a 5 star bike for me. As it is, the Fitdesk v2.0 is a very nice exercise bike and I'm really enjoying it.

Life changing gear at an unbeatable price
A beautifully engineered piece of equipment and a pleasure to use. This is exactly what I was looking for in a stationary bike/desk combo, and more than worth the (amazingly low) price. As the cliche goes, I wish I could award the FitDesk six stars. While I'm not counting them against the finished product, I do have a few quibbles with the assembly process. But before I get to those, here are my top pros and cons. These are highly personal and your mileage (so to speak) may vary. PROS: I wanted to get this so I could do something physically active while working on a laptop, and so that I have something else to do while I'm working out. I'm happy to say cycling and typing on a keyboard at the same time was a breeze from the get-go. (In fact, I'm typing this review as I cycle.) I was concerned pushing pedals would make me and/or the unit rock too much to get any work done. In fact, not only is it easy, but the exercise puts me into a more focused zone that seems to be helping my productivity. As for the exercise part, I'm already feeling the workout in my legs. And if you sit up straight and raise your arms while you type you get a core workout too. The desk works perfectly. It's covered with a rubbery mat that prevents slippage. I doubt I'll ever use the strap to hold my laptop in place. This is designed to fit into as little space as possible. My first choice would have been a walking treadmill/desk combo, but the space I have is both too narrow and too short. Configured for my height (5'10"), it's about 40 inches front to back and 20 inches across. It fits easily into my three foot wide niche with room enough to get on and off easily. Believe the hype about how quiet the wheel is. It's virtually silent. Typing on my keyboard is louder. CONS: I wish the desk could be adjusted vertically as well as front to back. And I wish I could bring the desk closer to the seat. The LCD display on the meter is very faint and hard to read. The seat could be more comfortable. And the pleather covering the seat and seat back are very easily torn. Obviously a top quality gel seat and leather instead of pleather would push the price put well past $299. I'm definitely ordering a gel seat cover, though. I was hoping to use this on two floors of my house. I figured I could schlep a 45 pound machine on a regular basis. That dream has died -- these are 45 awkward pounds even when the bike's folded down. I'm going to buy a second one for the other floor. ASSEMBLY ISSUES First of all, thanks to Revo for pre-assembling so much more of the bike than is shown in the instructions. However, you should plan to spend one to three hours putting this together. And bring real tools if you have them -- the tools you get with the kit are hard to use on some parts (I'm looking at you, bolt between the seat and seat tube). My biggest issue was with the holes through which the saddle is bolted to seat tube or seat extender (Step #3). They are so wide that it’s difficult to put the seat on straight. Holes just large enough to fit the bolts would solve that problem. (Maybe the larger holes are to let you install the seat crooked if you wanted to do that for some reason. But the seat extender has the same issue, and there's no reason for that.) But all in all, a terrific product. I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a good value in a compact exercise machine they can actually work on.

Great bike if this issue is resolved
Let me start by saying that I've been in contact with customer service, and my rating may change depending on whether my problem gets resolved. The bike was easy enough to assemble, though I think the tool it comes with is a little difficult to use for some parts of the assembly. The drawer came broken (as in it was in several pieces and unusable), but I guess that's not a big deal since it doesn't stop the bike from working. I got the bike assembled, and I was super excited to start using it! The desk part is big enough for my laptop, but not a mouse. That's not a big deal to me, but I figure some people may not want to use the mouse pad on the laptop. Anyway, the first hour or so of use everything was perfect. Then it started making a noise. I would describe it as a thump. I don't call it a click because it sounds deeper than that. It feels like something in the casing is hitting every time the right pedal reaches the back part of its rotation. I contacted customer service regarding this issue, and I got a response the following morning. The representative asked for a video of the sound and my order number, which I sent to him later that day when I got home from work and school. The following morning, he responded telling me to loosen the screws in the casing and push it backwards because the noise was caused by the wheel rubbing against the plastic of the casing. I tried this, but it didn't help. I have contacted customer service again asking for the next step, and I re-explained the noise that the bike is making. I don't think the representative really understood that the noise isn't a consistent rubbing noise (which is odd since I sent a video and the sound is obvious). I emphasized that it sounds like something is hitting inside and that it isn't a scraping sound. Hopefully customer service will get back to me and help me get this sound to go away! I will also say that the customer service hours seem a little odd. When you send an e-mail, you get an automatic reply saying they'll respond soon and usually within 2 to 4 hours. However, the times that I've received a response from customer service, it's been around 10 in the morning, and even responding around 12:30, I don't hear back for the rest of the day. I know within 24 hours is still a good response time, but then I feel like the automatic email shouldn't lead you to believe that you'll receive help in 2 to 4 hours. That being said, I really hope that this issue gets resolved. The bike is a great idea, and for the hour or so that it was working fine I really enjoyed it. It felt sturdy and fairly comfortable, though I think the seat will take some getting used to if I want to use it for longer periods of time. I will try to update this review as I continue to work with customer service to resolve the issue! UPDATE 3/31/2015: Sorry it's taken me so long to update this! I was hoping to have more to say. Unfortunately, I haven't been using the bike much because I can't really take it to work, and I'm still in college so I'm in classes a lot. Last I heard from customer service, they suggested that the noise would go away on its own once the band had time to "settle." He suggested 3 hours of use alternating pedaling forward and backward. I've used it longer than that total, and the noise persists. It only occurs when pedaling forward, so pedaling backward isn't as obnoxious! I keep hoping the noise will go away because I didn't really want to work with their customer service any more. The guy didn't seem very helpful. I'd previously sent him a video of the sound, and yet with that last recommendation he asked for a video (as if I'd never sent one). It just didn't feel like I was getting anywhere with him, so I figure I'll just deal with the clunking! I still like the idea of the bike (though I think for extended use I'll need to look into getting a seat cushion - that thing can make me sore!), but I really wish there'd been a better way to fix this issue!

So far very pleased
So far so good. I will say this is an initial review so I will mostly cover set-up and first impressions since I've only ridden the bike once so far. Will do a follow up review later to better rate how it holds up. Other reviewers have said two hours to assemble, and I found this to be extremely accurate for one person. If the bike will go up or down stairs, recommend opening the box near the door and taking the individual pieces one at a time. The design was smart for an assemble yourself device, as they put most of the mounting bolts in the places they go to make things easier. All the tools you need are included in the box, but I highly recommend bringing your own socket wrench with a 13mm socket for the seat mounts at minimum. This will make things a whole lot easier for you. I used the included tools for everything else which worked fine. I did use the seat extender because I'm 5'11", but it was a tough call for me since my wife is 5'8" and it is recommended for folks that are 5'9" and taller. But with my socket wrench it will be easy to remove if she can't reach the pedals. The seat is not particularly easy to adjust up and down, but I sprayed a little WD-40 on the metal and it made it slightly better. It's sturdy once you have it at the level you want it. The seat back folds forward, and has a lock bolt to prevent it from moving backwards, or to adjust to your level of comfort. I took out the lock bold and used one of the extra adjustment knobs which fits in that hole too and seems more natural to use, and I put the nut from the lock bolt on it to secure it. Not in the instructions, but it works better for me that way. The massage bar is useful to me for added stability too. You can hold onto that instead of the desk, or use it for added stability for your forearms when using your laptop or tablet. I threaded the securing band through the top upper hole and only use that for a laptop since I have a pillow style holder that sits nicely on the desk for my tablet. Typing is pretty seamless on the lower resistance levels, although I expect to be watching Netflix movies most of the time so I have a better handle on my riding time without paying any more attention to it than length of whatever show I choose to zone out to. I did connect the meter and it seems to work fine, but so far I don't pay any attention to the calorie counter or other readings. I had thought about ordering a rubber mat to go under it because of our squeaky hardwood floors, but the seats on the bottom sit quietly and the machine doesn't make much noise. I would recommend having a towel handy though as this does offer a real cardio workout and you will perspire unlike the guy in the picture Amazon has here. My last comment relates to the value. I pondered over the $6499 Expresso bike available here on Amazon long and hard because it seems to be the latest in VR bicycle technology before choosing this machine. The high tech gadget lover in me drooled over that at first glance. In the end analysis I just couldn't justify paying that kind of money and then possibly finding out I couldn't dedicate the required willpower to get on it regularly. For less than 5% of that cost I really think I will use this one, and won't have to worry about signing up for an expensive membership once the free trial expires on that other choice. This machine makes a whole lot more sense to me in the long run. I absolutely think it is worth the cost- so far. Once I get into better shape with it, I'll add more to this review- and hope this is helpful to you for now.

Happy Replacement for my 20+ year old exercise bike
Back in November 2023 my 20+ year old bike finally called it quits. I had worn right through the pedal bracket from years of spinning. Getting in shape was an absolute must in 2020 for health reasons, so I was in a bad spot without my bike! Where do you even get these anymore? To Amazon I went in search of its replacement. I wanted something I could work at and spin. During the pandemic, I was blessed with a work from home schedule that has continued into present day. I was used to working and working out. I had a makeshift space in the basement, with a table to the side. It was hard to maneuver, so something with a desk at the front was top priority. I found this model, and while the price was twice what I paid for the old one (thanks inflation), I had to have something. It took a few months to save up, and Christmas brought some money to apply to the fund. When I ordered this bike, I was a bit concerned and cynical. I just told myself to be patient and put it together as I could. The directions recommend that you use a socket wrench, but all the tools are included that you'll essentially need. Some of the nuts will be tougher to tighten (and loosen) without the socket. You can pick up a cheap set at any hardware store (or here on amazon (they said 1/2 inch cuff). When assembling the seat to the pole, note that the front nut is awkward and maneuvering the wrench is a bit tough. Angle the included wrench up toward the pole as you hold the seat down. Grab it with the points of the little wrench and turn it that way. You can't come in on the long piece of the seat and try to turn it. There's no space to turn. I've used this bike all weekend since it arrived. It's smooth AF. It went together fairly quickly (about 1 hour). It has an adjustable tension that my other bike did not. The desk is coated in nonslip rubber and has a lifting panel to support tablets. Under it, you can keep pens/pencils, small pad, and other small items you'll need. It includes a strap to further secure your laptop. The data console attaches on the back edge of the desk (behind your laptop screen), which is nice, so you're not obsessing on the time--just get spinning and working! The desk slides back and forth and secures in place with pressure knobs. The handle bars and backrest are a nice touch. You sit upright in a comfortable position. The pedals have stirrups to stabilize your feet on the pedals (no slipping and slapping your shins with a fast moving pedal). The bike also folds up a bit to store. I'm keeping mine in the basement, as you can see in the pictures included. It didn't need this feature, but will be handy for those with less space. Just a deterrent, in my mind to doing your spin session, when you have to pull it out of the corner first. Complaints: the seat is hard! I already have a gel seat cover from my old bike that I transferred. It's not enough, to be honest. My arms fall asleep a bit when I've been at spinning for more than 40 minutes, due to the pressure of the handle pads (which are supposed to be massaging). I guess move away from typing so much. Couldn't care less about the bands included for arm work. I do a separate core/arm session four times a week. Overall, I am thrilled to have this. I can't believe how quiet it is compared to the chain mechanism bike I used to have. If anything goes wrong, or better, I will try to come update this and let folks know. Happy Biking!

Retarded Instructions, Stunted tools and very cheap build quality
Ohhh where do I even start. This is what happens when American businesses go to lengths, Chinese lengths, to cut costs. Not only do they cut costs but they also greatly sacrifice build quality and overall quality thus leaving us with a product which makes us realize yet again that you get what you pay for. I bought this thing based on the glowing reviews and the fact that it was on a $100 discount. I am really not sure what people were smoking who gave this 5 stars. Any way, I was like OK I lead a sedentary lifestyle working on my laptop all day long aching to get out and workout each day. So nothing better than getting a product that can help me be active while answering emails and being on conference calls. That is where the fairy tell ends. The product is great in concept but TERRIBLE in execution!! The instructions that this thing comes with are downright demented and brainless. I have built a countless amount of Ikea and other furniture dealing with tons of written instructions over many years but this item takes the cake in hands down the worst written instructions known to human kind. I have a feeling that they asked their Chinese counterparts to also put together the manual/instructions booklet. Because clearly if someone had half a turd's worth of braincells inside their skulls, they would never write an instructions booklet so badly. WOW!! I still cannot get over how aggravating the instructions were and how terrible my last three hours were in trying to build this thing which otherwise comes pretty much pre-built. Yes this dang thing comes about 70% assembled but that 30% makes you want to jump off the bridge. Trust me on that. And the instructions are just the start. Then comes the skull crushingly, teeth grindingly infuriating part of their nuts and bolts and the horrible wrench that they provide. So every bolt that requires a nut being tightened on it, the nut happens to somehow freeze half way down. And the areas where these nuts and bolts are to be tightened are in the WORST, most unreachable spots in the assembly. For example,tThe way things are positioned under the saddle or are so insane that getting a nut tightened becomes the most suicidal tendency inducing exercise that you have experienced every before. Picture this, there is this bolt sticking out and you start tightening the nut with your fingers because the piece of sheet wrench they provided won't fit into that space. Yes the dang thing just won't fit. So you try to tighten the nut with your fingers but half way down the thing freezes…HALF WAY DOWN. So your only option is to use this god awful wrench to tighten the thing further. And guess what that does, the wrench is so big for the space that it starts to tear the underside of the saddle because some chimpanzee excuse of an "engineer" in this company did not plan properly as to where would be the best locations or the right sized tools to deal with this monstrosity. Last but definitely not the least, you have CHEAP…..CHEAP build materials!!! OMG I cannot even begin to describe how cheap the laptop holder and the tightening knobs and all those things are. It is disappointing at the very least and downright disgusting to see how the company cut corners with the cheap build materials used for the laptop desk and for the massaging handles. The laptop desk, the handles feel flimsy, cheap and just bad. For the price I paid for this POS I feel short changed with what I got. This is terrible and I just cannot get over it!! The worst part is that I have now somehow not killed myself and got this assembled. I really want to return this AeroFlot dinosaur but I cannot because I would surely kill myself if I had to disassemble the crappy thing using the tools that came with it. At the end of it all if you are someone with ungodly levels of patience who does not get aggravated with bad tools or stupid instructions and who is not bothered by cheap materials and who just wants to have a contraption that can help you get your heart rate up and calories burnt then this is the thing for you. But if you care about simple things such as good build quality and meaningful instructions and the fact that the aggravation you experience while assembling this thing might make you want to shoot yourself, in that case do yourself a favor and DO NOT buy this!!! UPDATE: Having this cheap, cheap contraption taking up space in my home office I also realize that the material used for the laptop table is so nasty that it emanates this chemically rubbery synthetic smell which is downright obnoxious. Ever since I have had this FitDesk close to me for a day, the smell of that table has started to make me sick. It is causing me to have a runny nose and I am coughing every few minutes. I have no idea if these guys did any quality control to check that the material used is not toxic. By the way it is making me feel I do not think these guys did any due diligence in determining that the materials are not toxic. Please keep this in mind too before you make the mistake of ordering this item.
