Pylos is a fun game
It's a great game to play. It's essentially a game of resource conservation. It's pretty easy to pick up and learn but it will take time to learn what the best strategies are. Since the game is played going upwards you have to be aware of what is happening on all levels of play when applicable. There are 3 ways to play the game using the beginner's, standard, or advanced rules for play. The beginner's rules I think are great for young children learning how to play. The standard rules are great for adults playing their first few games. The advanced rules definitely give the game a lot more strategies and make you really pay attention to what is happening on the board. The board is not very large but it is well made. It looks great on a coffee table with the pieces stacked into a pyramid or surrounding the board. Great game to add to your collection or as a gift for a board game enthusiast.

Beautiful conversation piece and game
Theres nothing to not like about this great and beautifully crafted game. Easy to learn and teach, and makes a wonderful table decor and conversation piece when not in use. High quality wood board is just GORGEOUS to look at, and perfectly stained.

I purcahsed this Jan/2021 (currently Fe 2023)... Back then my family would get together once a week for game night. The goal was to play a new game each time, and drop back to a classic if it turned out to be no good. This was definitely fun to play [at first]. Everyone enjoyed it. Everyone had their turn at losing and wining. DEVOLUTION: Chess -> Checkers -> Tic-Tac-Toe But then... after a couple of hours, once everyone had lost and won a few times, everyone developed strategies. The game became somewhat dull after that. It's like starting with chess the first game. Then checkers the following games. But, after a couple of hours, ending with tic-tac-toe. We haven't played it since that one night.

Simple to learn, complex to master
My husband has loved every game from this company, and Pylos is no exception. He played it a lot with various people over the holidays. Excellent quality materials, simple but intriguing game play. I highly recommend.

Sehr kurzweiliges Spiel. Lässt sich in durchschnittlich 15min zuende spielen. Kugeln und Brett machen einen wertigen Eindruck. Als Geschenk macht man damit keinen Fehler.
