This is an excellent quality, stylish (modern style) low illumination path light. Here's why I bought this light. Originally, I had path lights placed adjacent to our path. The gardeners (and even I) would frequently knock over these lights as we moved equipment, lawn mowers, etc down the narrow path adjacent to the light. The curved surface of the fixture "throws" a low amount, but sufficient for path illumination, light so that I was able to place the fixture about 1.5 feet away from the path. The light is concentrated in a forward-facing position. This meets all of our needs. Even the professional landscaper, who originally placed other path lights adjacent to the path, was impressed with this item.

It's a real shame that for a third attempt at giving these a chance they simply stop working and start to flicker. I have replaced these twice already giving them a chance but there seems to be a real manufacturing issue. It's too bad because they have a very nice modern and sleek profile. I really wanted these to work:( After replacing them (which is already a hassle, I have already had a 3rd one simply give out by simply flickering. I even attempted to fix it myself but there is no way to do this since the LED is integrated. This is very frustrating. Waste of money and time. I don't recommend.

These lights are well-built and give off a lot of light for 3W. The light projects both sideways and forward for a good spread of light. However, the big downside is that the light bulb itself is mounted in the center of the frosted plastic area, which is basically like shining a flashlight at you horizontally. Ideally, it would have been mounted more at the top and pointed downward. You can angle the whole fixture downward a bit to help minimize the glare but basically you want to mount these in a way that you only see them from a sideways perspective so you don't have a light shining in your eyes. Also, they are rather large so they may detract a bit from your landscape. Still a good option for modern outdoor lighting but room for improvement.

This is a appealing design. Unfortunately it looks better in the day time, that it does when lighted at night. The aluminum shell is NOT water tight. You can see light coming through the joints on the top of the lamp. Where light comes out of those cracks, water will go in. The LED is too bright for the job, and tends to cause a little night blindness if you look directly at the lamp. I found the lamps to be disappointing and will replace them in a few months, if they last that long.

The lights are great, however you need to be careful when inserting them into the ground, the stakes are not that strong. Also when tightening the stake the threads may strip so take care.

the lights work great along our steps. We ordered 6 lights for one walkway. Loved them so much, look great, work great, and easy to install. We ordered 9 for the next walkway and one more later for a step we forgot. Our steps are large stone steps so one light at their height shows on three steps, on one walkway we alternated them side to side on the other we put them all on one side. All show well and look great.

Agree with what others have said about the light direction being more outward than downward, however, the construction of the lights appears to be high quality and they do look quite striking when using multiples to create a mirror effect. The hue of the light definitely skews more towards warm than cool, provides a great ambiance for outdoor settings. I have 12 installed around a 500 sq ft terrace and it lights up nicely without being overbearing.

Purchased a second light to accompany an older one. Older light has a severely dis-colored lens which allows little light and looks terrible next to the new one. I contacted customer service now 3 time to find out how I could purchase a new lens and have not gotten any information back except that they have received my query.
