Fantastic thermo-hygrometer!
This is an excellent thermo-hygrometer! When placed side-by-side, all three remotes and the main unit were within 0.2F of each other. So far, the remotes have been holding up to the extended high humidity (read 99% for a few days, which was not inaccurate) as well as getting wet. Mine is set to cycle through the available channels, changing every 5 seconds, which works quite well. If I need to check one specifically, it can also be toggled to that specific channel. The range of the remotes works for my setup, having the main unit on the lower level, one remote on the upper level (~10ft through a floor), and one remote each out the front and back doors (both about 15 feet through a door). The min/max feature is also very nice, and can be set to clear daily (at midnight) or never clear. It keeps track of the min/max for each channel, and for both temperature and relative humidity. For those that care, units can be changed between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Good enough for everyday use
This weather station is reasonably accurate, by which I mean the probes will report temperatures and humidities that are within one degree Centigrade and 3% relative humidity of a scientific instrument. It is not terribly precise because the thermometer can err in either direction, hot or cold, and the same is true for the hygrometer, so I wouldn't imagine you'd want to use it for any industrial or scientific applications. If you just want to know what temperature it is inside and outside and/or in different living areas, it'll work just fine. I've had mine for a couple of months. A few finer points: while these record min and max temperatures and humidities, and either clears them daily or leaves them as records, they aren't really responsive to sudden weather changes. You can take one of these from indoors out into the winter air and it will take a while for it to respond, and vice versa. If a sudden cold front comes through, there's going to be some lag before your sensor starts reporting it (my guess is it reports its average reading over the space of a few minutes or so). Aside from the lag time, direct sunlight really warms these up so be careful how you position them. The wireless connectivity is mostly ok but occasionally wonky, especially if they're more than 20 feet or so away. It's low power for obvious reasons. By wonky I mean you can lose output on one of the sensors, temporarily, or until you move the sensor to a more favorable location. It can take a couple of tries to get all the sensors to get picked up by the WS-08, especially if any of the signals are distant. Assigning channels to new sensors or changing old ones is very simple, it's just a matter of flipping a couple dip switches and the instructions are right there. The battery cover for the sensors is secured into place with a screw, so have a Philips head screwdriver handy. If you dig in the manual you can find out how to calibrate the WS-08. Individual sensors can not be tuned or calibrated, but if you benchmark a sensor and find that it reports high or low by a set amount, you can modify that result on the main WS-08 screen (you just can't change what the LCD readout on the sensor displays). The bottom line is that these are an okay-to-decent product, which may sound like faint praise... but considering how cheap and shoddy many of these inexpensive weather stations are, it's a win. I'd probably buy it again if I needed to.

Good Unit. Easy setup. Very good tech support.
I bought this monitor and 4 remotes. Initially, I had a problem with the display not picking up the remote temps, but showing local temp and humidity fine. Called their tech support line and the tech (who actually spoke English and had knowledge of their products) walked me through a few checks. He confirmed that the console wasn't receiving and sent me a new console. When I put batteries in the new console, it immediately detected all 4 remotes and started displaying the temps and humidity values. The new unit works fine and detects the remotes all around my house and outside. I plan to purchase the hot tub remote and one more for under the house. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the inital problem. The fact that they had techs who were English speakers and quickly sent a replacement that worked as advertised was enough to earn 4 stars. UPDATE: After the inital problem, the unit is fuctioning flawlessly with the original 4 remotes and an additional 3 ( 1 is the hot tub remote) The hot tub and shed sensors are the farthest away at about 100 feet, including 2 inside and 1 outside walls. Also, have 1 sensor under the house to keep an eye on the plumbing when it gets cold. They all work great, with no dropouts. Am changing my review to 5 stars. Keep up the good work Ambient Weather.

Console with 4-sensor display
My first purchase was the WS-08-X2 console with two remote sensors. The system has worked fine - no setup problems or operational difficulties. The WS-08-X2 console displays the temperature and humidity readings from up to eight sensors, showing the output of only one sensor at a time. There is a scroll mode which allows scrolling through each sensor one at a time. I have the console on a side table about two feet away, so the digits are larger than needed to display only one temperature and one humidity reading. I went on the Ambient website and discovered they sell a console of the same physical size which displays four sets of sensor outputs simultaneously. This is the model WS-10-C. The console separately doesn't appear to be available from Amazon, although it is sold in combination with several sensor units. There are several sensors around the house and I have had no reception problems. The Ambient booklet states that metal attenuates the the RF signal 100%. Nevertheless, I installed a sensor inside the refrigerator which, of course, is a solid metal box and I have had no problems with the signal reception at the console about twenty feet away. All in all, a good product at a reasonable price with excellent customer support directly from Ambient.
